In Heidelberg, Germany. It was my first time meeting my great aunt (left) and the two kids (like her son, at right) and the half a dozen grandkids who live near her. They all speak English which allowed liberal amounts of jesting and lively discussion about politics, old family stories, and details about our lives on different continents.

Protesters sit-in at Ohio University's Baker Student Center on Feb. 1, 2017, to petition the administration to become a sanctuary campus and respond more strongly to President Trump's travel ban. Around 70 students and community members were arrested; many opted to go to trial and had their charges dropped after the first case went the way of the protester, OU student Michael Mayberry.I took this picture shortly before being arrested myself.
